A Florida couple has sued a fertility clinic after a DNA test showed the husband has zero percent chance of being the biological father of their baby girl.
Natalie and Joshua Strong went through years of injections, drugs and medication and the pain of a failed IVF attempt before finally welcoming their daughter in 2025.
But their happiness turned to heartbreak shortly after birth when routine blood work raised questions about who the baby’s real father was.
A DNA test confirmed Joshua was not her biological father.
The couple claims Brown Fertility in Jacksonville, Florida, mistakenly used another man’s sperm to create the embryo that became their daughter.
The clinic has denied the claim. Natalie said she cannot understand how one small mistake could affect their whole lives forever.
Despite the discovery, her love for her daughter has not changed.
She said she was so happy to have her and loves her more than anything in the world, but hearing this right after having the baby was devastating.
The Strongs are now suing Brown Fertility and its lead doctor, seeking answers about their daughter’s real father and what happened to Joshua’s sperm.
They also have three remaining embryos but do not know whose sperm was used to make them.
Joshua fears his sperm may have been mistakenly used to treat another patient.
He said they have no idea if the clinic still has it or if they used it elsewhere and if there are other possible children somewhere, they do not know.
The couple started their IVF journey in 2023 after deciding to have a biological child together.
Their first attempt failed before another round resulted in their daughter.
Natalie said they finally got their beautiful baby girl and it was the best day of her life.
