A commendable act at Murtala Muhammed International Airport has earned praise after staff member Frank Omorojie returned a lost purse containing $1,700, passports, and a credit card to its rightful owner.

Frank Omorojie, a staff member at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, has received praise for returning a misplaced pocketbook that contained money and crucial travel documents to its owner at the Terminal 2 departure hall.

Omorojie reportedly found the missing item at the Rwanda Air check-in area on Wednesday.

A Nigerian and British passport, a credit card, and $1,700 were all found in the purse.

Airport sources said that Omorojie instantly gave the item to Aviation Security, AVSEC, staff without hesitation, despite the fact that the finding immediately prompted worries about identifying the owner.

The discovered items were appropriately recorded and given to the Customer Service department, which promptly issued a public statement to find the owner in accordance with established airport protocols.

A Nigerian traveler who was on her way to Kigali, Rwanda, was soon reunited with all of her goods, despite her initial worry that they would be lost forever.

The episode was characterized by airport officials as a blatant display of professionalism and integrity, pointing out that such acts bolster public trust in airport operations and employee behavior.

In a brief statement, Omorojie stated that basic values of integrity served as the basis for his choice.

He said, “I just did what was right.”

Colleagues and airport officials have subsequently praised his efforts, calling it an admirable example of accountability and moral behavior in public service.
