Former Chelsea and Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has been appointed as the new head coach of Manchester City, signing a three-year contract with the club.

Maresca takes over from Pep Guardiola, whose final game in charge ended in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.

Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on social media, stating that Maresca has signed a deal running until June 2029 and will play an active role in shaping the club’s transfer strategy going forward.

Maresca had been without a club since his departure from Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge in January, and is reported to have turned down other managerial offers while holding out for the Manchester City position.
